Heavy Duty Mobile Service Technician
Friday, February 19, 2021We are searching for a customer focused, self motivated Truck & Transport Technician to work as Mobile Service Technician in the Grande Prairie area. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This is a field service position and requires frequent travel throughout Western Canada. Applicants must be available to travel on short notice.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Performs on site mechanical support to new and existing customer locations in assigned territory to diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance to diesel engines, transmissions, rear ends, differentials, electrical/electronics, power systems, hydraulic systems, and other service work as requiredInitiates service calls with new customers and sources leads to generate sales in the Service DepartmentDocuments all service activity, parts and consumables used, communicates with Service Advisers for billing purposes, orders parts for equipment repairs, and completes time recordsCompletes all maintenance and repair activities in a safe manner and ensures work area is clean and organized according to company policies and proceduresResponds by telephone, in person, and e-mail to customer technical inquiries, issues, and concerns in an effective, timely, and professional mannerSustains a regular maintenance schedule for equipment, tools, and service truck including oil changes, truck washes, interior detailing, and other maintenance as requiredConducts business on behalf of Stahl Peterbilt in a professional manner and represents Stahl Peterbilt culture to ensure fulfillment of company vision and values; assists with successful implementation of major company programs and initiatives
Employment Qualifications:
Must be a certified Journeyman Truck & Transport TechnicianMust be available for out of town shift work if necessaryMust be MX and Cummins certifiedIntermediate computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) and ability to acclimate to PC based order entry systemValid Class 5 driver’s license with ‘Q’ endorsement and clean drivers abstract is requiredAbility to travel throughout central Alberta including evenings, weekends, overnight stays, and on callMust have own toolsKnowledge of engine and gear repair, experience with computer diagnostics, and excellent trouble shooting skills are assets1-2 years experience as a mobile technician is preferred but negotiableMust exhibit excellent verbal communication skills, as well as ability to organize and manage time appropriatelyMust be able to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal record check prior to hiring
