We are searching for a motivated and experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician to join our team as a Shop Foreman in our Fort McMurray location. You are a proven leader with excellent organizational skills and are comfortable coordinating a busy shop environment. Your great communication skills will provide technical assistance and support to those around you and possess a professional manner to liaise with customers. This position will be a 5-day work week, Monday to Friday, comprising of 8-hour days.


Job Description and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervise, constructively evaluate performance of, and provide technical assistance to 6 – 14 technicians
  • Coordinate day-to-day shop activities in a timely manner
  • Lead and mentor a safe work environment
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure jobs are completed properly and on time
  • Communicate with customers in a professional manner
  • Train and coach new employees
  • Plan an even workflow and oversee jobs in progress


  • Employment Qualifications:

    • Must be a certified Heavy Duty Technician or equivalent
    • 7 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
    • MX, CAT and Cummins experience and a CVIP License is an asset
    • 3-5 years of experience running a shop preferred
    • Must be organized, professional, and a good communicator
    • Must be able to work safely in a high-pressure environment
    • Intermediate computer skills necessary (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn to dealer specific software programs
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal record check prior to hiring
