Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician

To meet the demand in our growing Service Department, our Grande Prairie location is searching for an energetic and responsible Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician to join the team on a full-time basis on our shift rotation (rotation- month on days, month on evenings / extra premium for evening shift). As the ideal candidate, you will be a team player with a positive attitude who can work in a fast-paced environment and has truck and transport experience.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance, overhaul and repair of various components of a variety of heavy and medium duty trucks equipped with diesel engines and automatic or manual transmissions.
  • Completes all maintenance and repair activities in a safe manner and ensures work area is clean and organized according to company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts business on behalf of Stahl Peterbilt in a professional manner and represents Stahl Peterbilt culture to ensure fulfillment of company vision and values.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • CVIP license considered an asset.
  • Class 3 or 1 drivers license considered an asset.
  • MX, CAT, and/or Cummins training will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to understand and effectively use computer equipment including computers for diagnostics.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, physical and criminal record check prior to hiring.
