Accounting Clerk

We are searching for an Accounting Clerk to work full time in Edmonton. A successful candidate will be someone with a customer service minded mentality who can function as both a team player and independently in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Accounting Manager and Credit Manager and will provide assistance in collections, receivables, and payables. This position is 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.  

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Completing collections calls, maintaining collections notes, and reporting findings to Manager(s). Verifying and researching information regarding customer accounts and providing support to facilitate the collection of funds.
  • Providing customer support through phone and email inquiries regarding statements and invoices.
  • Providing Accounts Payable support including posting invoices to general ledger and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Cross coverage for Accounts Receivable posting of payments to general ledger.
  • General Accounting Support and other duties as assigned.

  • Employment Qualifications:

  • Credit and collections experience is beneficial
  • Business Diploma in Accounting or related job experience is an asset
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to acclimate to PC based business system are necessary
  • Must be a good communicator with strong organizational, analytical, and technology skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal record check prior to hiring
